About the event
The Aylesbury Estate, once home to 8,000 residents, has been seen as a symbol of urban decline, yet it housed a thriving, multi-generational community. The Aylesbury Voices explores its legacy amid regeneration, reflecting on what is gained and lost as homes and communities are reimagined.
Through art, photography, film, and audio, the exhibition shares residents' experiences from the estate’s origins to life beyond demolition. Highlights include Harriet Mena Hill’s Soft Concretes and Aylesbury Fragments, alongside community-led video works, photographs, and drawings.
Presented by Our Cube CIC, an artist collective dedicated to inclusive, participatory projects that foster curiosity, exploration, and belonging in cultural, heritage, and community spaces.
Supported by WTH Community Space at Walworth Town Hall.
